Avmacol® Extra Strength is a patented, sulforaphane-producing supplement that works in combination with Maitake mushroom extract (containing beta-glucans) to support your body's natural detoxification process better than sulforaphane alone.1 Avmacol® Extra Strength provides glucoraphanin, also known as sulforaphane glucosinolate, and active myrosinase enzyme, which are the essential ingredients needed for sulforaphane production. What are the Ingredients?

Avmacol® Extra Strength contains the essential ingredients necessary for sulforaphane production in the body, broccoli seed extract (Glucoraphanin) and Myrosimax® (Active Myrosinase Enzyme). Avmacol® Extra Strength also contains Maitake mushroom extract for added immune and detoxification support.

How Maitake Mushroom Extract Works in Combination with Sulforaphane

The Science Behind Avmacol®
Extra Strength

The combination of sulforaphane and Maitake extract supports the movement (or translocation) from the cytoplasm to the nucleus of NRF2 and increases the levels of certain Phase 2 enzymes. In control cells (left panel), the green staining indicates that NRF2 remains largely in the cytoplasm (arrows) without much protein located in the nucleus, which is counter-stained in blue. When cells are exposed to sulforaphane and Maitake (right panel), NRF2 moves to the nucleus (arrows) where it can bind to DNA to turn on expression of certain Phase 2 enzymes.
